New Mural by Wiley Ross at HAAM Headquarters!
We celebrated our new South Stairwell mural by local muralist and musician Wiley Ross last week at the HAAM Headquarters featuring music from DJ KICKIT! This project was generously supported by Lynne Dobson and Greg Wooldridge with the Tejemos Foundation and we were thrilled to celebrate a new HAAM milestone with them!
PNC Announces 3-Year Partnership with HAAM as co-lead HAAM Day Sponsors!
As part of its continued commitment to the Austin music community, the PNC Foundation announced a three-year, year-round partnership with the Health Alliance for Austin Musicians (HAAM). The renewed sponsorship with HAAM will make the PNC Foundation the organization’s exclusive financial education partner and the co-lead supporter of HAAM Day, Austin’s biggest fundraising event supporting local musicians.
Save the Date for HAAM Day!
HAAM Day is more than a fundraiser! Now in its 19th year, HAAM Day is one of Austin’s most iconic celebrations of community and live music, raising awareness and critical funds for HAAM. HAAM Day 2024, powered by PNC and SXSW, will take place on Tuesday, September 24th and will be offering more than 250 FREE live music performances all over town.
Support Red River Rising’s Online Auction!
HAAM is a proud partner of Red River Rising and their efforts to support the Austin community, particularly regarding empowering local musicians, preserving the iconic downtown music district, and addressing housing insecurity. Red River Rising will be hosting an online auction of over 120 pieces of music memorabilia and experiences beginning July 1.

This Fall saw new faces at the HAAM office. Three undergraduate interns - Lillian Russell (St. Edward’s University), Jude Hill (St. Edward’s University), and Thomas Philip (The University of Texas at Austin) - joined the HAAM team, working in outreach & enrollment, and marketing & communications.

Robin & Bud Shivers HAAM HQ Ribbon Cutting & Grand Opening
On Thursday, March 2, HAAM hosted a ribbon cutting ceremony celebrating the opening of its newly renovated, permanent home in Austin. Last year, HAAM announced the purchase of a 7,134 square foot office building in Central Austin – 3036 South 1st Street. This purchase was put into motion following a generous legacy gift from Robin and Bud Shivers. Robin Shivers founded HAAM in 2005 to address the healthcare needs of low-income working Austin musicians.

For the past 16 years HAAM has helped more than 6,000 musicians access over $100 million dollars in healthcare and served as a lifeline to the performers that make the capital city the “Live Music Capital of the World.” As honored as I am to join HAAM as the new Chief Executive Officer, I am also ecstatic to be a part of this incredible organization.
HAAM Announces New CEO: Paul E. Scott
Health Alliance for Austin Musicians (HAAM) is thrilled to announce our new CEO, Paul E. Scott. When outgoing HAAM CEO Reenie Collins announced she would retire at the end of 2021, a national search was launched to find Reenie’s successor and HAAM’s new top executive.

Today, the Health Alliance for Austin Musicians (HAAM) announced its CEO, Reenie Collins, will be retiring in January 2022 after nearly a decade with the music nonprofit. Her time at HAAM will be remembered as an era of growth, stability, and monumental work for musicians in Central Texas.
