HAAM Members Tell Their Stories
The Live Music Capital of the World is home to incredible musicians whose talent and creativity enrich our live music scene and embody what makes our city unique. From an Iranian immigrant who found his voice in world music to an open-format DJ who is also a Top Five Austin Business Woman of the Year and nominee for an Latino Media Orgullo Award. These artists represent not just different musical genres, but the diverse paths that lead creators to make Austin their artistic home.
How do we keep these creatives here in Central Texas?

Information and Resources for SIMS Service Pause
The SIMS Foundation announced the pausing of most services for a 90-day period, from November 1, 2024, to January 31, 2025, to restructure and develop a sustainable service model going forward.
Over the last 20 years, HAAM has worked alongside the SIMS Foundation as a partner organization to improve the mental health and wellness of our music community. During this time of change, we are working to keep our community informed and connected to the care they need. Many of us know the invaluable support the SIMS Foundation has provided to Austin's musicians over the past 30 years to ensure that mental health and substance use recovery services are within reach. We are working closely with SIMS to be supportive partners as their organization makes significant changes.
